The NARA Trainer-in-a-Box™ Series
NARA’s goal is to promote regulatory services that support its vision, "consumer protection through prevention," and its focus is the advancement and dissemination of knowledge related to regulatory administration. It has long been concerned about the precarious and worsening crisis in training for human care licensors. Without external sources of funding, however, NARA cannot provide, and many licensing agencies could not afford, the extent of on-site training and consultation the field needs to meet evolving regulatory challenges and the looming need to replace regulatory professionals that are approaching retirement.
To help, NARA offers a series of fully prepared, fully scripted workshops that will allow agencies’ staffs to make polished, competent presentations, usually with little more than three to four hours preparation. The CD includes an Instructor’s Guide with complete instructions for preparation, session planning and presentation rehearsal, as well as any handouts, tools or reading lists associated with the package; some sessions will require the presenter to gather agency material for the exercises. While many agencies do not have full-time regulatory trainers, those that do will be able to rely on NARA-approved training in basic issues, leaving their own development time to be applied to designing courses and materials for agency-specific needs.
The NARA series intends to offer training packages on a wide range of topics, preserving and making available the knowledge and experience of many leading regulatory practitioners from across the licensing community.
